Life in the mountains was frugal, you went out early to the countryside to work the land or graze the cattle... the house was the place where you rested, completed some tasks, or made preparations for the work. agricultural...
We tried to preserve the charm of the old buildings, in order to preserve the memory of the place, and transport the traveller to past times.
Thus, we provide a set of five spaces, structured by an interior patio, and the dining room, and although some have seen their function changed, they retain their original shape and volume.
We have a small size, and in our smallness, we offer a unique atmosphere, we would say, almost familiar.
We assume a relationship of deep respect for nature... so we thought of our garden as a window to nature... in the shade of leafy poplars, you can contemplate the surroundings, read, write... or simply enjoy the engaging...

Casas do Palheiro Velho
Casas do Palheiro Velho, a characteristic property of the mountain range consists of more than thirty small land plots. We have rehabilitated and adapted the old building to preserve the charm and charm of other times.
The accommodations available are the result of old restored buildings, which as a whole, transport us to another era, a time when time passed slowly.
Rooms are equipped with a TV, air conditioning and a private bathroom. The suites also have a kitchenette.
Breakfast is served in the dining room, which has a wood-burning stove and exposed wooden beams.
We are five minutes from Castro Marim, fifteen minutes from Ayamonte (Spain), or Vila Real de Santo António. In addition to the beautiful, endlessly stretched beaches of golden sand on the leeward side, our guests can also explore the neighbouring villages and enjoy regional delicacies from the rural Algarve.
The great river of southern Iberia, the Guadiana River, is less than 5 km away, invites you to contemplate the immensity of its calm waters and provides opportunities for walking, cycling, or bird watching.
The A22 motorway is around 6 km away and provides access to the entire Algarve and Spain. Vila Real de Santo António Train Station is an 11-minute drive from Casas do Palheiro Velho.

Breakfast - a short trip through the flavours of Baixo Guadiana
Previously, we presented a varied buffet, however, in the current context, we distribute a basket with breakfast, containing the products previously selected by the customers for whom they are intended. We offer orange juice (our own production), coffee, milk, tea, various sandwiches (jams, honey, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs, sausages), local fruit, croissants...

Due to its versatility, it is the preferred space for families who visit us. The mezzanine is the delight of children, and the living room is the magical place that transports us through the memory of times.

Double room:
The double rooms previously had a utilitarian character, related to the local economy. Tomilho was a shoemaker's workshop, and Mariolas, was a stable for calves, and more recently a winery. Hence the fact that they have a crack as a window. Although comfortable, in their modesty, they allow us to return to times gone by. It will be the ideal space for an introspective moment, complicity, or an escape for two.

Triple room - Alfazema
The triple room resides in the only truly new space, emerging as a mark of the intervention, which enabled the rehabilitation of the set. It has a panoramic window, which allows a magnificent view over the village and the surrounding fields. It is a versatile space, it is equipped with a freezer. It has a capacity for three people.
